Our Silicone Breakaway Cat Collars Are Almost Here
Something new just arrived at Monterey × Jack — and we’re pretty excited about it.
Our silicone breakaway cat collars officially landed this week, and we’re currently getting them photographed, sized, and uploaded to the shop. If everything goes according to plan, they’ll be available very soon.
These collars have been in the works for a while, and they solve a few problems we kept running into with traditional cat collars.
Why We Designed a Silicone Cat Collar
When we started building our cat collar collection, we wanted materials that were safe, comfortable, and practical for everyday life.
Velvet collars are beautiful and incredibly soft, but we also wanted an option that could handle a little more chaos — water bowls, messy food moments, curious cats who somehow end up in everything.
Silicone turned out to be the perfect solution.
It’s flexible, lightweight, and easy to clean, which makes it ideal for cats who live full indoor lives (and occasionally get themselves into trouble).
What Makes These Collars Different
Our silicone cat collars are designed with everyday comfort and safety in mind.
Breakaway safety clasp
Every collar includes a breakaway buckle that releases under pressure to help prevent injury.
Soft and flexible material
Silicone moves with your cat rather than sitting stiffly against their fur.
Waterproof and easy to clean
A quick rinse or wipe is usually all it takes.
Lightweight design
Cats notice heavy collars quickly, so keeping things light was important.
Six Colours (Because Cats Deserve Options)
We designed this collection with a mix of playful and everyday colours.
The new silicone collars will be available in six colours, giving you plenty of options whether you prefer something subtle or something a little brighter.
Some cats like to keep things classic. Others like to make a statement.
We support both.

Monterey Has Already Given Her Opinion
As head of quality control, Monterey has already inspected the new collars.
Her review was mostly positive, although she did spend several minutes attempting to chew the packaging.
We’re choosing to interpret that as enthusiasm.
