Meet Jack: The Newest Member of Monterey × Jack
After months of planning, preparing, and waiting… Jack has officially arrived.
Our golden retriever puppy joined the family this week, and it’s safe to say things have gotten a lot more energetic around here.
If Monterey (our tuxedo cat and original inspiration for the brand) is the calm and slightly judgemental supervisor, Jack is the enthusiastic intern who believes everything is a toy.
Why Jack Matters to the Brand
Monterey × Jack started with Monterey.
Her personality, her safety, and her comfort inspired the very first cat collars we designed. But the plan was always to build something that worked for both cats and dogs.
Jack is now the reason the dog side of the brand officially begins.
From testing collars to exploring muddy trails, he’ll be helping us understand what active dogs really need from their gear.
A Golden Retriever With a Big Job
Golden retrievers aren’t exactly known for living clean, careful lives.
They love water.
They love mud.
They love finding the one puddle on an otherwise dry trail.
Which makes Jack the perfect tester for our waterproof dog collars.
If a product can survive a golden retriever puppy, it can probably survive just about anything.
Quality Control (Monterey vs Jack)
So far, Monterey and Jack are still negotiating their working relationship.
Monterey prefers quiet supervision from high places.
Jack prefers enthusiastic greetings and bouncing enthusiasm.
We suspect it may take a little time before Monterey fully accepts her new coworker.
What Comes Next
With Jack now officially part of the team, you’ll likely see a little more dog content around here.
